bowls themselves, and the smooth soled heelless footwear are the
same as those used outdoors. The main difference between outdoor
and indoor bowls is the playing area and the presence
of a block in the centre of the mat, this prevents players from
playing with force directly towards an opponents bowl in order to
knock it out of a scoring position. The narrow playing area requires
players to develop a skill in using the natural bias on the bowls
to round the centre block.
Kennellys
Short Mat Bowls Club will be the first in the area and
we are offering you the chance to be a member. There will be an
annual membership fee of €220, this equates
to just €4.23 per week (payment plans are
available).
For
this annual membership fee you will receive:-

1 x shirt with incorporating the clubs logo the club's logo on it.
* 1 x membership card with photo.
The
membership card will also give you a 10% discount on food/drinks
from the bar as well as the option to hire the function hall free
of charge for private functions i.e.: Birthdays,
Anniversaries etc.
The
club will be open Monday - Friday 10am to 5pm. There will be competitions
held throughout the year, also there will be monthly entertainment
for club members.
